George was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy in WWII, and had a 38-year career in accounting management with U.S. Steel. He volunteered in his church and community; loved music, sports, and travel; but, the joy of his life was his adored wife Mary and his wonderful family. George was an honorable man and a quintessential gentleman. He was caring and supportive, and a role model for the family who loved and revered him. He was loyal and considerate, and made a positive impression on everyone he met. He lived a long life well, and will live on in our cherished memories.

We will have a family celebration of his life next summer in Maine.
