George Joseph Perry

George Perry, 88, of Middletown, Rhode Island, passed away on August 11, 2018 at Newport Hospital.George was born on May 5, 1930 in Middletown, RI to the late Joseph Perry and Emelia Perry.George was married to Esther (Pisarczyk) Perry for 63 years.George was a member of the Middletown Knights of Columbus for over 40 years. He was also a member of the Carpenters Union, Local 176 and local 94 for more than 50 years. Besides being a skilled carpenter, George could repair any kind of machinery. He always had a kind word, or a joke to brighten up your day, or a piece of Fire Ball candy to spice up your life.The only two things that he joked about not being able to fix, was the crack of dawn and a broken heart.George is survived his wife, Esther Perry, and his children; Karen Perry Merlin and her husband Sean of Missouri, George A. Perry, of Middletown, Brian J. Perry of Newport. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Ashley, Alex, Laura, Brandon, Brian, Chelsea and Brenda.Calling hours will be held on Wednesday August 15, 2018 from 4-7 pm in the Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway in Newport.George's funeral will be held on Thursday August 16, 2018 at 9:00 am in the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Jesus Saviour Church 509 Broadway in Newport. Burial will follow at Newport Memorial Park, 123 Howland Avenue in Middletown, RI
