George W. Vieira Jr

George W. Vieira, Jr., 95, of Newport, RI, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 15, 2016 in Orlando, FL surrounded by his loving family.George was born on December 5, 1920 in Jamestown, RI, to George W. and Lena (Kilby) Vieira, Sr.George attended Rogers High School in Newport and after went to work for William P. Clark Co. until they closed. He later retired from Raytheon in Portsmouth, RI. George loved playing various games with his family and grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing, playing pool, and golf. He was also a member of the Cape Verdean Club.George was preceded in death by his wife, Frances M. Andrew Vieira; son, George W. Vieira, III, and grandson, George W. Vieira, IV.He was a devoted father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.George leaves to cherish his memories: four children, Joyce Haddocks and her husband Lloyd, Richard Vieira and his wife Brenda all of Orlando, FL, Barbara Coppell and her husband Victor of Coppell, TX and Lisa Reid and her husband James of Orland, FL, along with fourteen grandchildren and several great grandchildrenCalling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2016, from 11-12 in Community Baptist Church, 50 Dr. Marcus F. Wheatland Boulevard, Newport, followed by his service at 12pm.Burial will follow in Braman Cemetery, Farewell Street, Newport.
