Georgia M. Clements

Georgia M. Clements departed this life on October 26, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on December 21, 1939, in Newport, Tennessee, Georgia lived a life marked by love and devotion to her family and home.

Georgia grew up on a tobacco farm in Newport, Tennessee and then spent most of her life right next to Newport (Middletown), Rhode Island. She had a fondness for cardinals and all animals. After moving to Middletown, Georgia was a dedicated worker at the Commissary on the Newport Naval Base. She was known for her easygoing nature and laid-back demeanor.

A devoted homemaker, Georgia cherished her time spent with family. Whether engaging in her favorite pastimes such as playing solitaire, sudoku, bingo, playing the slots, collecting her beloved unicorns, or relaxing while watching television, Georgia's gentle spirit and calming presence will be deeply missed.

Georgia is survived by her loving daughter, Lori Richards, her brothers Bruce and Ray Thomas, her daughter-in-law Theresa Clements, her grandchildren Christopher, Samantha, James, and Shirley, and her great-grandchildren Penelope and Georgia.

Funeral services for Georgia M. Clements will be held on November 4, 2026, at 10:00 AM, at Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI. Family and friends are invited to gather and pay their respects as we celebrate her rich life and legacy.

Georgia was preceded in death by her husband Carol Clements, her son James Clements, her parents Edward and Octave Thomas, and her sister Dorothy Shatley.
