Geraldyne Leona Gerardi, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, who departed this life on September 2, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on April 8, 1945, in Fall River, Massachusetts, Geraldyne lived a life dedicated to caring for others and making a positive impact in her community.
Geraldyne, known affectionately as "Gerry," pursued a career in nursing, serving with compassion and dedication at various establishments, including Blenheim Assisted Living, St. Clare Nursing Home, and Capital Home Care. Her nurturing spirit shone through in her roles as a wellness coordinator, where she combined her medical expertise with a genuine love for her patients, ensuring they received the best care possible.
She was the cherished mother of two daughters, Jennifer Gerardi and Jacquelyn Eggert, who gave her immense joy. Jennifer will forever hold dear the memories shared with her daughter, Meagan Medeiros, and Jacquelyn will remember the love of her husband, Herb Eggert, and their children, Mitchell and Sydney Eggert. Geraldyne is also survived by her loving sister, Phoebe Simmons, and a host of family members who will miss her dearly. Jacquelyn will remember the love of her ALONG WITH her husband.
Gerry was predeceased by her life companion, John Reis, her brother Robert William Champoux, and her brother-in-law, Myron Simmons. Despite the losses she faced, Gerry's spirit and resilience remained an inspiration to all who knew her.
In addition to her professional achievements, Geraldyne found joy in fitness and community engagement. She was an enthusiastic member of the YMCA, frequently participating in fitness classes and running road races, inspiring others with her unwavering determination.
A celebration of Geraldyne's life will be at a later date.
Geraldyne Leona Gerardi will be profoundly missed but will always be remembered for her kindness, dedication, and the love she shared with everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Rest in peace, dear Gerry.
