Glenna Turner passed away at home August 15, 2017, after a long struggle with cancer. She was born on October 14, 1949, in Troy, NY and was the daughter of H. Gordon Turner and Phyllis (Meekins) Turner. She graduated from Syracuse University and received a Master's Degree in Film and Script Writing from Ohio University where she briefly taught classes in the History of Film. Glen was an avid lover of books and was right home at the Redwood Library where she worked for many years and made many good friends. She also enjoyed helping others prepare their books for publishing. She was a gentle soul and a true Libra who always sought a balanced view. When she moved here in 1994, she had no idea of her ancestral connections with some of the earliest RI families e.g. Hill, Munro and Sherman. She is survived by sisters Lillian Turner-Gracie of Santa Fe, NM, Claire Turner of Troy, NY and a nephew Jordan Turner, a world traveler and current resident of Santa Fe, NM.We thank Hospice, Visiting Nurses, Christopher Yalanis, and Julie for all of their help during this difficult time.Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Troy, NYDonations may be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, donate.nationalbreastcancer.org, or to the Robert Potter League For Animals, PO Box 412, Newport, RI 02840.
