Hope Ann Addison

Newport, RI - Hope Ann Lopes Addison, 69, of 7 Second Street, Newport, RI, died Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at Newport Hospital. She was the wife of the late Nathaniel D. Addison Born in New Bedford, MA on March 12, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ann Costa Lopes.Mrs. Addison worked as a sales clerk at the US Navy Exchange for over twenty one years retiring in 2000. She loved salt water fishing and was a member of the RI Striper Tournament and the RI Salt Water Fishing Club. Hope was an avid BINGO player and enjoyed sewing clothes for her family. She is survived by her children, Dayton N. Addison of Newport, RI and Daylene A. Addison of New Bedford, MA; and her brother and sisters, Walter Lopes of New Bedford, MA, Elenor Lopes of New Bedford, MA, Eileen Kuiee of Newport, RI, and Anna Ramos of New Bedford, MA.Hope was the sister of the late Joseph Lopes, Barney Lopes, John Lopes and Nettie Lopes and had special memories of her late cousin, Vaughn Alves. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2009, at 11 am in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.Burial will be private.Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
