Horst Roman Buresh, [78], of Providence, passed away at the Elmhurst Rehabilitation Center in Providence on August 12, 2018.Horst was born on May 30, 1940 in Egar in the former Czechoslovakia, to Johann and Maria Buresch.He immigrated to Newport, RI from Germany in 1957 and became a U.S. citizen in 1964.Horst worked for many years at Raytheon in Portsmouth as a maintenance technician. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers-Aquidneck Lodge 587.Upon his retirement, he began working at the Ocean Coffee Roasters shop in Washington Square where he remained under its many names until it closed in April of 2017.Horst was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Buresh, his son Johann and his sister Marian Buresch.Horst is survived by his children; Michael Buresh and his wife Kirsten of Chicago, IL and Cynthia Holt and her husband Brian, of Providence, RI. He leaves five grandchildren: Lydia, Gretchen, Von, Hank and Penny. He is also survived by his sister Ellie Baird of Portsmouth.Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 4-7 in the Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway in Newport.Burial will be private.
