I.M. Charlotte (Wood) Shirley, 85, of St. Marys, Georgia, and Middletown RI. passed away on
November 24, 2018 at the Camden County Hospital, St. Marys, GA.
Born in Newport, she was the daughter of the late Stearns and Bernice (Langley) Wood
Charlotte was the wife of the late Raymond W. Shirley.
She was a graduate of Rogers high school, working for the City of Newport and the Middletown
School Department, working for many years at Aquidneck School.
She leaves her son Karl Shirley, of Middletown and daughter Susan Desmond of St. Marys GA.
Charlotte was the grandmother of Nikolas Shirley and Andrew Desmond as well as brothers Stearns
(Steve) Wood of Menomonie Wisconsin and Leonard Wood of Williamsburg Virginia. She was
predeceased by her brother Barry Wood and sister Barbara Hall Dickens both of Newport.
Funeral Services will be private.
