Isabel N. Nunes Costa, 93, of 4 Vaughan Avenue Newport, died Monday, May 27, 2002 at Heatherwood Nursing And Subacute Center Newport, RI.She was the wife of the late Henry Costa. Born in Newport, RI on May 6, 1909, she was the daughter of Joseph Souza and Isabel Vargas Nunes. Mrs. Costa worked as a caretaker for the Estate ?Plaisance? for Dr. And Mrs. Saunders. She was the secretary to Mr. And Mrs. Charles Gilbert. She also worked for Newport Cleaners and the former Swain Cleaners retiring in 1971. She is survived by two daughters Barbara Moniz of Newport, RI, and Dorothy Garcia of Middletown, RI. And three sons Henry J. Costa Jr. of Newport, RI, Joseph G. Costa of West Melbourne, FL, Charles W. Costa of Orange City, FL. And one sister Ann McFee of Portsmouth, RI, 16 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren, 5 Great-Great Grandchildren.She was the sister of the late Joseph G. Nunes, George Costa, Rose Kelley and Mary Murphy, grandmother of the late Linda Moniz, and Esther Durnil, and great grandmother of the late Michele Halloway. Her funeral will be held Thursday, May. 30, 2002 at 8:00am from the Hambly Funeral Home ?Brick House? 30 Red Cross Avenue, Newport followed with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00 AM in St. Augustins Church, Carroll Avenue, Newport.
