James A. Davison

Middletown, RI - James A. Davison, of 52 Boulevard, Middletown, died on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Newport Hospital at the age of 85. Born in Burlington, MA on Jan. 11, 1929, he was the son of the late James Alfred Davison and Helen (Castonguay) Davison. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Mary (Kurtis) Davison. Also, he is survived by his sister Ruth Landry of Billerica, MA, as well as her children Robert Landry, Arlene Wheatland, Jean Saulnier, as well as other nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by sisters Lillian, Barbara, and younger brother George. In 1949 Jim began a life of dedicated service to his Creator when he was baptized as one of Jehovahs Witnesses, at the age of 20. He was joined by his wife Mary in the full-time ministry October 24, 1959 when they were married. Jim was a faithful Christian elder of the Newport Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses. Jim selflessly volunteered much of his time to assist his spiritual family and neighbors physically, emotionally and spiritually. Jim was a respected and deeply loved man and will be greatly missed in the community and in the congregation.In order to support his career as a full-time minister, preaching the Good News of God's Kingdom, Jim worked secularly as a finish carpenter, as well as various other jobs, includingserving as a representative of the Mighty Automotive Distribution Company.His memorial service will be held in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 36 Hillside Avenue, Newport on Sunday, July 27, at 1:00 PM.
