Middletown, RI - James F. Templeton, 92, of 3 Casey Drive, Middletown, RI, died Friday, December 26, 2008 at home with his wife and daughter by his side. He was the husband of Grace Morgan Templeton. Born in Quebeck, TN, on August 29, 1916, he was the son of the late Franklin Cheatam and Cora Ether Jernigan Templeton.Mr. Templeton was raised in Tennessee. As a young man Mr. Templeton entered the US Navy and served for 28 years, during WWII, Korean and Vietnam. He had been stationed in Boston, Norfolk, VA, Green Cove Springs, FL, Newport, and Quonset, retired as a Master Chief. He had also worked at the Newport Naval Base for 12 years as a power plant supervisor. He loved gardening, fishing, and always enjoyed returning to Tennessee to visit his old hometown and family. Mr. Templeton was an avid Red Sox Fan. Over the last few years, he has missed his mans best friend Cindy Lou. Besides his wife of 62 years, he is survived by a son James T. Templeton of St. Thomas, USVI, a daughter Diane Acton of North Kingstown, RI, and step daughter Sandra Garrison of Dayton, TN, and two grandchildren, Seth Acton of Charlestown, RI, and Jesse Acton of Nashville, TN. He was also the brother of the late Lester Templeton, Pleas Carter, and Betty Elise LaCook, and half brother of the late Conard Templeton, Eston Tempeton, and Corinna Lowry.His funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at 11:00 am, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Tuesday morning, from 9:00-11:00am, in the funeral home.
