James Kalif

James Mitchell Kalif ('Jim') passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 12 at 85 years old.

Jim was born on February 16, 1940, in Fall River, Massachusetts to Mitchell and Josephine Kalif. He served in the United States Air Force for four years and met his wife, Patricia (Quickfall) Kalif during his service in England. They were happily married for 61 years. Together they had two sons, David Kalif and Steven Kalif, and six grandchildren.

Jim owned and operated Smith Used Furniture on Pond Avenue in Newport for several decades. He was a lover of his faith, his wife's cooking, and Warner Bros' 2004 adaptation of The Polar Express.
