James Michael Alexander

James Alexander, 62, of Tiverton, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully at home on July 20, 2018.Born in Newport, RI James was the son of the late John Alexander and Julia Hair. He was the husband of the late Barbara Alexander for 31 years.Jim was born and lived most of his life in Newport, RI. He enjoyed fishing, boating and hunting. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed caring for the grounds of the Heritage Trailer Park in which he spent the last 14 years of his life. His quiet demeanor and his caring loving spirit will greatly be missed.James is survived by his sisters Susan Alexander and Julie Pinheiro, brothers Alan Alexander and Cris Alexander, nieces Ashlee and Brittanee, and his beloved dog Chewy.In addition to his wife, James was preceded in death by his brother Johnny Alexander and James and Barbaras son, Rush Alexander.Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018, 9:00 to 11:00 AM at Connors Funeral Home 55 W Main Road Portsmouth, RI. A service in the funeral home will immediately be held at 11:00 AM.Burial will follow at St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown, RI.In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.
