Jane T. (Lopes) Lauth 68, of Tiverton, Rhode Island, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 18th, 2026, at Saint Anne's Hospital after a brief illness with her children by her side.
She was born in Newport, Rhode Island, on September 28th, 1957, the daughter of the late Roland A. Lopes and the late Patricia (Biastre) Lopes. She was a graduate of the Rogers High School Class of 1976 and later received an associate's degree in business.
Jane worked for General Dynamics and other various companies as a support contractor for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, serving as an Administrative Assistant. She worked in this capacity for more than 20 years before retiring. Throughout her career, she was known for her professionalism, her steady dedication, and the care she brought to her work. Her colleagues appreciated her attention to detail and the consistency with which she approached her responsibilities.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle A. Lauth and her son Hayden Lima (Lauth) of Central Falls, and by her son, Roy D. "David" Lauth II (Teresa) and their son Jonas Lauth of North Kingstown. She is also survived by her sisters, Deborah Barton (Bruce), Lee Fitzgerald (Bill), Denise Vieira (Jeffrey); and her brother, Stephen Biastre (Karen). Additionally, she is survived by her aunt, Kay Reedenauer (Paul), and her cousins Edmund "Eddie" Lopes, and Mark Reedenauer (Michelle).
Calling Hours will be on Saturday, October 24 from 9:00-10:00am at Memorial Funeral Home on 375 Broadway, Newport, RI, 02840. A Funeral Service will follow in the same location. Burial will be a St. Columba Catholic Cemetery on 465 Browns Lane, Middletown, RI 02842.
