Janet (McLeish) Perry, age 67, of Middletown, RI, passed away at home on Friday, December 28, 2018, surrounded by her family friends. Janet was born in Newport, RI to the late James McLeish and Dorothy (Scott) McLeish.
Janet graduated from Middletown High School in 1969, where she excelled in many sports and was known as Babe Ruth. She worked at Aquidneck Lanes in Middletown for many years, where she taught many children how to bowl. Janet was an excellent bowler andheld the Womens High Average in Rhode Island. She also worked at NUWC as a Systems Analyst for over 25 years before retiring in 2015.
Janet loved spending her summer days at 3rd beach with family and friends. She liked nothing better than being with her children and grandchildren and she never missed a sporting event they played in. She also loved her Red Sox andPatriots!
She leaves behind her cherished daughters Kimberly andTracy Perry and her beloved friend Debbie Sansone, her sister Sam Silvia and brothers Scott McLeish and his wife Cathy, James McLeish and his wife Sherri. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Konner Kluth, Kailyn Mello, Jacob Mello, and Meadow Manchester. She was the treasured aunt of Stacey OHanley, John Jemo, Scott McLeish Jr., Maia McLeish, Christian Salvetti, Brynn McLeish and Cameron McLeish, and Emily and Ben McLeish.She was preceded in death by her brother Robert Otis McLeish.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, January, 2 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at 11:00 at St. Marys Episcopal Church, 324 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be private.
