Janet Ann Medeiros

Janet Ann Medeiros, 72, of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, died on September 10, 2026. She was the wife of Joseph Medeiros. Born in Taunton, MA on July 6, 1954, She was the daughter of the late William and Gloria (Phillipino) Floor.

Janet worked for many years as a medical assistant, first at Newport Hospital and then for various practices throughout the area. She had an easy going nature and was quick to share a smile, which made for each day to be full of quiet joy. She was funny, but didn't share that with everyone. Throughout the year, she was an avid fan of all the local sports teams, including baseball, hockey, basketball, soccer, and tennis.

In the more quiet moments, Janet enjoyed jig saw puzzles, word searches or listening to music.

Janet is survived by her husband Joseph, and their two children; Jenny Medeiros and William Medeiros of Portsmouth, RI. She also leaves her sister Judith Floor and her partner Kelly James in Taunton, MA and a brother William Floor, Jr in Sarasota, FL and John and Tina Medeiros, brother and sister-in-laws in Fort Worth, TX.

A memorial service will be held on 11:00am at the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.
