Jayne Marie Butler, 63, of Newport, RI died Monday, July 24, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Jayne was born on July 20, 1954 and grew up in Portsmouth, RI. She is the daughter of the late Russell D. Posey and the late Frances V. (Reise) Posey. She was married to her lovely husband, David Butler, for 26 wonderful years. She was passionate in the culinary arts and enjoyed cooking for friends and family. Her independence echoed throughout her entire life and motivated her to fight for the life she wanted. Jayne graduated from Portsmouth High School, participating in numerous local 4-H competitions. She completed training in typesetting, and studied graphic design where her artistic passions and attention to detail excelled. She spent the majority of her career at PDQ Graphics of Newport, where due to her passion, kind heart, artistic ability and superior customer service became a local celebrity in her community. She was known for being a pure soul, enormously giving and kind, touching the hearts of all she came in contact with. Considering her to be an angel, represents the most justice for her character, as a daughter, mother, wife, sister and friend. She is survived by her husband, David Butler of Newport, RI; her daughters, Deanna Robinson of Woonsocket, RI, Denise Robinson of Newport, RI and Britney Banks of San Antonio, TX, her brother, John Posey of Scarborough, ME; her grandchildren, Jazmyn, Johnny, Malik, Reise and Caroline Marie, as well as a great-grandson, Ki'reyn. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Mann Ave and Broadway in Newport.Burial will be private.
