Jeffery Paul Capps

Jeffery Capps, age 55, of Middletown died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 in Middletown. Jeffery was born February 15, 1962 in Goldsboro, NC. He is the son of the late Rexford T and Marie (Strickland) Capps. He was married to Mary-Frances (Mimi) Potter 26 years. Jeffery loved cooking and grilling outside with his family. He served in the Navy during Desert Storm, and formed lifelong relationships with some of his shipmates. His children and his family were the most important things in his life. He touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew him.He is survived by his wife: Mary-Frances (Potter) Capps, two daughters: Crystal Marie Foster-Capps and Cheyenne Nicole Capps, and one son, Michael P Capps; his mother Marie (Strickland) Capps, and his brother Michael E Capps.He is predeceased by his father, and his brother, "Buzz" Capps.Calling hours will be held on Wednesday May 24, 2017 from 4-6 pm in Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway in Newport. His funeral and burial will be private, at the request of his family.
