Jeffrey Scott Adams, 73, of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, died at his home, surrounded by his family on May 19, 2026. He was the loving husband of Mary (Mock) Adams. Born in Fall River, MA on June 12, 1952, He was the son of the late Franklin and Lois (Davis) Adams. Jeff grew up in Somerset and graduated from Somerset High School in 1970.

In his earlier years, he enjoyed music and played bass in a band. He and his young family enjoyed camping and traveling a lot for his 4 children's various sports. He was the assistant coach of his two youngest daughters' hockey team for many years. At an early age, he had curiosity for figuring out the way things work, which then proceeded him to a career of engineering, problem solving, and making something out of nothing. He found several opportunities over the years to work as a mechanical engineer, including Vetrix and Quadrax, designing, building and programming advanced manufacturing systems and robotics. His career brought him around the world and opportunities to work on several technological breakthroughs. Outside of his work, he loved cars and motorcycles, whenever he got a chance, he would take his Harley for a ride. Jeff remodeled much of his home himself, taking pride in making it the perfect place for his family to make memories throughout the years. Jeff found his next calling, as "Papa" to his 10 beautiful grandchildren. Whether it was watching one of their sports games, swimming in the pool, or teaching them anything he could, he never passed on the chance to spend time with them. Jeff will always be remembered as someone who was willing to lend a helping hand.

Jeffrey is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Adams, and their four children; Justin Adams (Jena Thompson) of Hudson, FL, Erin Rolando (Robert Rolando) of North Kingstown, RI, Nicole Adams (Troy Robinson) of Middletown. RI, and Katelyn Adams (Peter Radkovich) of Middletown. He will be deeply missed by his beloved grandchildren, Hannah Adams, Ian Adams, Madisyn Adams, Carmella Rolando, Leah Adams, Nicolas Rolando, Noah Robinson, Ramona Radkovich, and Giannah Robinson. His dog, Stella, has been his constant companion, and side kick for the last 10 years. Jeff also leaves one brother David Adams and his wife Patricia of West Ossipee, NH.

Jeffrey is preceeded in death by his parents, a granddaughter Chloe Lynne Adams, and his sister, Gail Gosson and brother Dana Adams.

The Adams family would like to thank his personal care giver Sara, staff at VNA home and hospice, including his CNA Rhonda for the exceptional care provided for last 2 years.

A private service will be held at Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth.
