Jesse Paul Furtado

Jesse Paul Furtado, 42, of Scituate, RI, formerly of Newport and Portsmouth, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 in Portsmouth, RI.He was the son of Janice (Americk) Furtado of Portsmouth, RI and the late Charles Furtado.Jesse was a longtime Newport resident, and worked for over 15 years as a commercial fisherman out of Newport, RI and Gloucester, MA. He received a degree from Marymount College in New York, and was a loving father, brother and friend. Jesse had a big heart, and will be dearly missed by the many lives he touched.He is survived by his daughter Lilly Catherine Furtado of Newport, his mother Janice Furtado of Portsmouth, his longtime love and companion Jennifer Rohrig of Scituate, RI, his sisters Catherine Furtado of Mystic, CT, and Alithea Furtado Johnson of Washington, DC, Lilly's mother Laura Maurus of Newport, his brother in law Adam Puslys and niece Ava-Charles Puslys of Guilford, CT and many cousins. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 10 at 1:00pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
