John Michael Denman, 55, of Newport, R.I. died Monday November 13, 2017 at home. Mr. Denman was born in Fall River, Mass. He is the son of the late Arthur A.and the late Kathleen Elaine(Duffy)Denman.John attended Portsmouth schools and CCRI Warwick,R.I. His lifelong love of horses led to training under Paul Valliere of Acres Wild.He was awarded numerous ribbons in dressage throughout New England.John was employed as a groom/ trainer at Sandy Point, Shamrock and Sunny Lawn Stables on the Island, and Roseland Acres in Tiverton. John was a member of the 4H club and the Dartmouth Horseman's Association.John was an actor starring as the king in "The King I" at Portsmouth High School, and performed in "Oklahoma "and "Witness for the Prosecution "in local productions.He is survived by Veronica " Vicky " Denman of Salisbury, Mass., Kate and John Burrows of Newport, Arthur Denman, Jr. of Front Royal, Va., and Thomas Denman of Gloucester, Mass. and several nieces and nephews.Calling hours will be held on Monday December 4, 2017 from 4 to 6 pm in the Memorial Funeral Home 375Broadway.
