Joseph Angelo Belli of Middletown, RI, died on March 3, 2026.
He was the loving husband of Mary Cecilia (Moitozo) Belli. Born in New Bedford, MA on September 25, 1930, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Joaquin) Belli.
Mr. Belli was a graduate of Fairhaven, Ma. schools. He entered the US Navy and retired as a Chief Hospital Corpsman after 22 years of service. During this time he also served with the Fleet Marine Force during the Korean War. Upon retirement, he was employed by Purdue Frederick Pharmaceutical Company Yonkers, NY. He was subsequently employed at the Naval Hospital, Newport as a Contractor Administrator until his retirement in 1995. He attended Johnson and Wales University and Providence College and was a graduate of Roger Williams University.
He is survived by his granddaughter, Madison Rose Belli of Pittsburgh, PA and his daughter-in-law, Melissa (Belli) Breth of Lakewood, NY.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Mary Cecilia (Moitozo) Belli, his sons, Captain Stephen J. Belli, US Army and Jeffrey M. Belli, and his siblings, Arthur A. Belli, Robert A. Belli, and Theresa Botelho.
Services for Mr. Belli will be private.
