Joseph Henry Dutra

Joseph H. Dutra,59, of Portsmouth, RI, passed away in the arms of his loving wife Laura on October 23, 2018. Born in Newport, R.I on May 22, 1959 to the late John and Catherine Dutra. Joe was the husband of Laura L. Dutra for 23 years.Growing up in his family home on Anthony St. in Newport RI Joe attended Rogers High School. He showed interest in carpentry at a young age, inheriting his love for woodworking from his uncle Joe. Joseph who was a master carpenter from frame to finish. He loved working with his hands creating many memorable masterpieces.In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by his children Joseph Dutra Jr. and his daughterFaith, Daysha Dutra (Jeff), sibilings Jack Dutra (Lynn), Anne Wright (Charlie) and Kathy Hennessey. His grandchildren Jasmine, Deven, Justice, Darren, and many nieces and nephews, and his faithful dog Lewey.Calling hours will be held on Tuesday October 30, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway Newport, RI 02840.A memorial service will be Wednesday October 31, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway Newport, RI 02840, at 11:00 AM.Memorial donations can be made to charity of your choice
