June Whye

June (Blackwell) Whye, 58, of Warwick died Sunday, December 18, 2016, at home in Warwick. She was the wife of the late Donald Whye for 15 years.Born on February 4, 1958 in Newport, RI, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Muriel L. (Woodson) Blackwell. In 1977 she made a home in Philadelphia, PA for 20 years where she raised her children and earned her College Degree in Early Childhood Education. In 1997 she returned to Rhode Island and made a home in Warwick where she taught preschool. Teaching was her passion and a becoming a teacher in her home state was a dream come true.She is survived by her daughter, Marie Monteiro and granddaughter Larinna Goss of Grovetown, GA and her son Steven Faison and his wife Leticia Faison and their children, Zaliyah Faison, Zavion Faison, Caden Paiva and Kiara Paiva of Cranston, RI. She is also survived by two sisters, Mary Blackwell of Providence, RI and Barbara Goff of Wedgefield, SC.June also leaves a countless number of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 26, 2016, from 4-7 in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Her funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at 11:00am, after calling hours from 10-11 in Community Baptist Church, 50 Dr. Marcus Wheatland Blvd., Newport.
