Kyle James Mitchell

Kyle James Mitchell, 23, of Portsmouth went to his eternal home on Wednesday, May 4, 2016. He was born May 18, 1992 in Guam. He is the beloved son of John and Anne Marie (Carey) Mitchell of Portsmouth. Kyle grew up in a military family, where he saw more parts of the world than most kids his age. He graduated from Portsmouth High School. He played youth baseball, high school football, and lacrosse and enjoyed snowboarding, wakeboarding, and fishing. Most recently he was completing barber training at the Rob Roy Barber Academy where he aspired to open his own shop after graduation. Kyle leaves behind his loving son Landen James Mitchell who is the apple of his eye; his parents, three younger brothers: Ryan, Lanse, and Colin Mitchell all of Portsmouth, RI. He is the beloved grandson of Mary (Gretta) Carey, the late John F. Carey of West Roxbury, MA; Joyce Muchow of Paradise, CA, and the late Arthur James Mitchell of Hemet, CA. He is loved by several aunts and uncles, John and Donna Carey of Braintree, MA; Laura Leigh Garrison of Paradise, CA; Valerie and Roland Resendez of Paradise, CA; and Rin and Paula Mitchell of Elk Grove, CA as well as many cousins. All who knew Kyle could contest that he had a gentle spirit and a heart of gold. With Kyle's passing we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated. He will forever live on in our hearts! Visiting hours will be Sunday, May 8, from 5:00-7:00pm at Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.A funeral mass will be held on Monday, May 9 at 11:00am at St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.
