Lilla Marie Landgraf

Landgraf, Lilla M. Peg 91, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at Newport Hospital, with her family at her side. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, William B. Landgraf, sons John B. Landgraf of Ridgewood, NJ, Douglas M. Landgraf of Powell, OH, Karl D. Landgraf of Newport, RI, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Her eldest son, William H. Landgraf predeceased her in August of this year.Mrs. Landgraf was the only child of Harry and Lilla Michelson and was born and raised in Newport. She was graduated from Rogers High School and attended Simmons College in Boston. Mr. and Mrs. Landgraf first made their home in Providence, RI, moved to Washington, DC during the war and subsequently to Cleveland, OH where they raised their family. She was Administrative Assistant to the President of Case Western Reserve University, later to the Director of Development until she retired in 1976 and returned to Newport with her husband. In Newport they pursued their passion for sailing and the oceanside peacefulness of Brenton Point for many years. Memorial services will be at a future date.
