Lillian Teresa Chaves

Lillian T. Chaves, age 98, of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, passed away on September 29, 2018.Lillian was born in Fall River, MA to the late John Mathias and the late Alexandrina (Linhares) Mathias. Lillian was the loving and devoted wife to Frank Chaves.Lillian is survived by her daughters Barbara Aguiar and her husband Kenneth of Portsmouth, and Lillian "Bunny" Chaves of Fall River, MA, her son, Frank Chaves of Fall River, her brother, Joseph Mathias of Portsmouth, her grandchildren, Kenneth Aguiar and his wife, Mindy, Kevin Aguiar and his wife, Erin, and Frank Chaves, her great grandchildren, Andrew Aguiar, Matthew Aguiar, Ava Aguiar, Gage Aguiar, Emme Aguiar, and Ty Chaves, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, John Mathias, William Mathias , Mary Quintal , Gertrude Rezendes, and Alice Duarte.Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at 10:00AM, at the St. Barnabas Catholic Church, East Main Road, Portsmouth. A private burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River, Massachusetts.Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
