Louis D. Costa, 93, of Middletown passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Newport Hospital. . He was the husband of Maria A. Pinhiero Costa. Louis was born in the Azores, son of the late Antonio D. and Maria (CeuVargas) Costa.Mr. Costa came to America from the Azores in 1968. He worked at Pearson Yachts for over 25 years and was a longtime member of Jesus Saviour Church.Besides his wife he leaves his children Joe Costa and his wife Sue and Olga Ventura and her husband John all of MiddletownLouis was the grandfather of John Ventura and his wife Chrissy, Nelia Almeida and her husband Dustin, Joseph Costa, Christine Gross and her husband Kevin, and Nina Longley and her husband Nathan, he was also the great grandfather of Huntley Almeida and John Gross.Louis was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters Antonio Silvia, Manuel Vargas, Francisco Vargas, Joseph Costa, Maria Du Sel Vargas, Rosa Vargas and Amelia Vargas.Calling hours will be held Tuesday morning from 8:30AM to 10:30AM in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. His funeral will follow from the funeral home at 10:30AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM in Jesus Savior Church, 509 Broadway, Newport.
