Louis G Virgadamo, Jr, 88, of Portsmouth, July 17, 1937 - April 26, 2026. Another precious child of God has returned to the Kingdom of Heaven. My beloved father has returned home after his valiant battle with dementia.

Born in Boston, MA he was a lifelong Rhode Islander, living in Newport and later in Portsmouth. Louis is preceded by his beloved wife of 61 years, Patricia M. Perry Virgadamo. He was the perfect father and hero to daughter Theresa Virgadamo. He was the son of the late Louis G. Virgadamo Sr, and the late Alice E. Barfield Virgadamo Allen and the step son of the late Joseph P. Allen. Besides his daughter, Louis is also survived by his sister Jacqueline M. Virgadamo Reynolds, brothers in law, Richard A. Perry and David A. Perry, ans sister in law Diane E. Moore, along with several nieces and nephews.

Dad was a quiet man who was ready to go anywhere on an adventure, or a trip down memory lane. He loved to read, watch movies, fish, and just go for rides. Most of all, Louis loved to be with his family, intent on listening to the stories and observing all the fun and love.
He worked in the laundry at Newport Hospital for 44 years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Louis also served in the US Navy Reserves.

Dad leaves a great hole in our hearts as only a great man can. However, we know where he is and that he watches over us all.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, May 3 from 4:00-7:00pm in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 4 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Barnabas Church, ___ East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will follow at Newport Memorial Park.

Donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
