Manuel Alves, 80, of 118 Seascape Ave. Middletown, died Monday, May 20, 2002 at Grand Islander Health Care Center Middletown, RI. Born in Middletown, RI on April 27, 1922, he was the son of the late Frank and Maria Coelho Alves.He is survived by his brother with whom he lived Walter Alves of Middletown, RI.He was the brother of the late Joseph Alves, Frank Alves and John Alves. His funeral will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2002, at 10:00AM, from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM, in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway And Vernon Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown. Donations in his memory may be made to the Grand Islander Health Care Center, Patients Activities Fund, 333 Green End Avenue, Middletown, RI 02842.
