Margaret Spaulding Farnum, a devoted wife, mother, and friend whose generous nature made those around her feel loved and cared for, passed away on July 25, 2026, at the age of 79.
Born on May 7, 1947, in Barre, Vermont, Margaret was the daughter of the late Henry Spaulding and Marion (Hill) Spaulding. She attended Marian Catholic School, graduating in 1965. In 1971, she married Wayne Farnum at St. Monica Church in Barre, beginning a life together filled with family, friendship, and many happy memories.
For more than 30 years, Margaret worked as a manager at Cumberland Farms. During her long career, she formed lasting friendships with coworkers and customers alike. She was a familiar and friendly presence to many and took great pride in her work.
Some of Margaret's happiest times were spent with her family. She enjoyed camping trips with her family in Vermont, often spending time with her brother and making memories that Margaret treasured throughout her life.
Above all, Margaret loved her family. She was a devoted mother to her three sons, Daniel, Jeffrey, and Wayne, and found great joy in caring for the people closest to her. Generous by nature, Margaret loved giving to others and had a way of making holidays and family gatherings feel special. Christmas held an especially dear place in her heart, and she delighted in choosing gifts and creating traditions for those she loved.
