Margaret M. Rosa, 51, of Newport, RI, passed away surrounded by her loving family in Providence, RI, on December 19, 2018, due to complications from colitis she had courageously battled for over 20 years.
Born May 29, 1967 in Newport, RI to Albert Rosa Sr. and Margaret Gaudet Rosa, Margaret was the wife and loving companion of Andrew Hazelton of Manchester, Vermont.
Educated in the Newport school system, Margaret later received her bachelors degree from Johnson and Wales College. Soon after college, she discovered her true lifes passion, massage therapy, which she pursued with love and untiring dedication to both her craft and her many clients up until her death. And while she maintained practices in both Newport and Vermont for many years, at heart she was a true Island girl.
Margaret had immense love and compassion for animals of all kind, and her spirituality led her to dedicate much of her time to animal welfare, gardening, doting on her chickens, and feeding such large populations of birdlife in her yard that it likely qualified as a migration stopover site. Most other times, she could be found walking the forests around her house with her four-legged companion (and soulmate), Zoie. Margaret also loved traveling the world, requiring only that, whatever the destination, there be a natural hot spring nearby to lounge in.
In addition to her husband and parents, Margaret is survived by her siblings, Denise Rosa of Newport, RI, Michelle Rosa of Southington, CT, Albert Rosa JR (Libby) of Newport, RI and Richard Rosa (Kristin) of Richmond, RI, and Andrews children Lily and EJ. She also is survived by her loving nieces and nephews who she adored, Ashley, Olivia, Richard, and Jack Rosa (who all knew her to be a notorious cheat at board games but adored her anyway).
Margaret also leaves many loving family members of the Rosa, Gaudet, Reynolds, and Perry families.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents George and Doris Rosa, Hank and Anna Gaudet, and her great grandmother Katherine Reynolds.
