Margaret Ward

Margaret Beatrice Ward, of Newport, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, at the age of 88. She was the wife of the late John Daniel Ward Jr for 44 years. She was born on August 22, 1937, in Newport, RI, to the late Henry and Dorothy Yeomans.

She lived a life full of love, resilience, and the warmth of family. She loved swimming at the Elm Street Pier as a young girl. One of her favorite things to do was go for a drive, get a lobster roll, and have dessert with her family. Margaret loved to read her tabloids, listen to music, and do word searches. Her go-to favorites included her Double Mint gum and her box of chocolates. A devoted homemaker, Margaret dedicated her years to nurturing her family and creating a home filled with laughter and cherished memories. The Ward household was the house where all the children's friends went growing up.

Margaret is survived by her three children: Rebecca (Larry) Knight, Dorothy Coelho, and Robert (Deb) Ward. Margaret also leaves seven grandchildren: Paul, Anthony, Jason, Denise, Holly, Amber, and Andrea; nine great-grandchildren: Abigail, Aydan, Logan, Ella, Aida, Caleb, Ellie, Hallie, and Morgan; and one great-great-grandson, Ares. Margaret was preceded in death by her sons Richard, John and her grandson Thomas Ward. She was the sister of Thomas Yeomans and the late Henry, William, Fred Yeomans, and the late Dorothy Donovan.

Margaret will be remembered for her incredible strength, unwavering commitment to her family, her spunk, and her compassionate heart.

Margaret's funeral services will be private.
