Marianne Toole

Marianne Eileen Toole (Barry) passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025 surrounded by her loving family, after a second battle with breast cancer which she faced with courage and grace. She was predeceased by her parents, Gordon Barry and Dorothy Barry (Ketchum).

Marianne was a beloved Wife, Mother, Nini, and Sister, whose warmth and vibrant spirit touched everyone she met. She is survived by her devoted husband Bernie Toole, her children: Cynthia Kurtz (Toole), Eric Toole, Stephen Toole, and Catherine Toole, as well as her son-in-law James Kurtz and daughter-in-law Jessica Toole (Kobzick). She was the proud grandmother of Kayley and Alexandra Kurtz, daughters of Cindy & James Kurtz, and Anthony and Julia Toole, children of Eric & Jessica Toole. She is additionally survived by brothers, sisters, and in-law's: Daniel (and Janet) Barry, Bonnie (and Doug) Wessell, Patrick (and Jennifer) Barry, and Virginia (and Bill) Murtaugh and their families.

A graduate of Marlborough High School (MA), Class of 1981, Marianne was an avid photographer and a true beach lover who cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. Known for her larger-than-life personality, Marianne was a true social butterfly, she thrived in the company of her big family and countless friends. Her laughter was contagious, her energy unmatched, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome was one of her greatest gifts. She loved hosting gatherings, celebrating life's moments, and creating memories that will be treasured forever.

Marianne raised her family in Natick, Massachusetts and later moved to her happy place, Newport, Rhode Island. She and Bernie embraced life by the sea, spending joy-filled days with family and friends who adored her. Marianne's legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Funeral services for Marianne will be held at Memorial Funeral Home, located at 375 Broadway, Newport, RI, on December 6, 2025. Calling hours will be from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM at the same location.
