Marilyn Louise Fagan

Marilyn Minkie Fagan 89, of Newport, RI passed away peacefully on November 7, 2018. Born on February 26, 1929 in Newport, daughter of the late Charles W. Minkler and Louise (Slocum) Minkler. Minkie was the wife of the late John F. Fagan, Jr.Minkie was a native Newporter graduating from Rogers High School. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and spent time in New Hampshire enjoying holidays and special events with everyone. She taught her family how important sharing time with each other is. No matter where you are love will always surround you. We will miss you more than anything!Minkie was a competitive duck pin bowler, enjoyed times at Eastons Beach and the New Hampshire lakes region. She was a longtime waitress, formerly working at the Mile Post, Wanumetonomy Golf Club and The Pier Restaurant. She had a passion for all sports; especially the Red Sox and Patriots. Minkie is survived by her children Peter J. Fagan and his daughters Kara Fagan (husband Graham), Kristen Fagan (husband Joseph) and Jessica Fagan (fiance Ryan). Marilyn A. Martellini and her daughter Audra Mayuski (husband Jay). Mary K. Jarvis (husband Michael) and daughters Kerri Thomas (husband Jarred), Jillian Tally (husband Brian). Minkie also enjoyed spending time with her seven great grandchildren. The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Newport Hospital, Grand Islander TCU caregivers, Bayada Home Health Care team and her personal care provider Debbie Hoffman for all of their care and compassionate attention.Visitation will be held on Monday, November 12, 2018 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI 02840. A memorial service will be held immediately following in the funeral home, at 11:00 AM.Burial will be private.In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Robert Potter League for Animals, 87 Oliphant Lane, Middletown, RI 02842.
