Marion Dorothy Almeida

Marion (Michon) Almeida, 74, of Middletown, RI, died on Sunday, June 17, 2018, surrounded by the love of her family at the Grand Islander Nursing Center in Middletown.Born on September 18, 1943 in Newport, RI, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and the late Marion E. (Clark) Michon. She was the wife of the late Charles R. Almeida.Mrs. Almeida worked as a receptionist at General Dynamics for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and baking with her grandchildren, sharing and collecting recipes, knitting, crafts, and the holidays. Marion truly enjoyed helping others as much as she could and received that love and support back from Marions Angels.She is survived by her son Keith R. Michon and his wife, Kristie, of Portsmouth, RI, her step sons, Charles R. Almeida, Jr. and his wife Heidi of Middletown, and Robert J. Almeida of Newport, RI, her brothers, Michael Michon of Sayersville, NJ, and John Michon of Brooklyn, NY, her sisters Sandra Reeves of Washingtonville, NY and Gail Smith of Winchester, NH, her former daughter-in-law, Gail Michon, and her grandchildren, Keith Robert Michon, Jr., Breana Marie Ponte, Alyssa Ann Michon, Amanda Gail Michon, Madeline Marie Jarvis, Dustin Almeida, Kristopher Almeida, and Dacia Leigh Almeida, and five great grandchildren.Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, from 11:00am-1:00pm, in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Her funeral service will follow at 1:00pm in the funeral home.Burial will be in the Middletown Four Corners Cemetery, Turner and Wyatt Road, Middletown.Memorial Donations in her memory can be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
