Mark Hynes (70) passed away unexpectedly on September 18, 2026. Born in Boston on November 5, 1955, Mark lived a life defined by pride in his family, curiosity about the world, and an enduring love of music.

Mark is survived by his wife, Ruth, and children-Daniel Rancourt, Celina Hynes, Cassandra Hynes and her husband Louis Bousquet, Nicholas Hynes and his partner Samantha LaPorte, and Tristan Hynes. He is also remembered by his siblings, Paul, Christopher, his late sister Anne, and their families.

Throughout his working life, Mark built a career in both welding and in the elevator-escalator industry. Reliable and hard-working, he brought skill and a strong work ethic to all that he did.

Mark was an avid reader and became an enthusiastic painter in recent years. He was passionate about music and found great joy in the songs and sounds that accompanied him throughout his life. Mark loved to laugh, and because of his kind, gentle nature, he will be remembered for the dedication and love he poured into those around him. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.

Services will be held for friends and family at Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI on October 3, 2026 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.
