Martha E. Skipper

Middletown, RI - Martha E. Clark Skipper, 85, of 7 Orville Drive, Middletown, RI, died Sunday, January 25, 2009 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late Donald Byron Skipper. Born in Jessup, MD on November 13, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Burns and Bertha Disney Clark.Mrs. Skipper worked as a secretary at Ft. Meade Army Base, Transcom and NETC for 26 years, retiring in 1988. She enjoyed babysitting of Military Families and Families of the Jazzercise. She is survived by her son Thomas G. Skipper and his wife Carel of North Carolina, her daughters Billie Jean Goodman and her husband Jimmy of North Carolina, Patricia L. Bryant and her husband Robert L. of Portsmouth, RI and Cheryl A. Pollard of California, her grandchildren, Vicki L. Goodman, Wayne C. Skipper, Jr., Christopher M. Skipper, Sean D. Skipper and Reanna M. Ochoa, nine great grandchildren and her sisters Bertha Sims of Maryland and Achsah Zetwick of Pennsylvania. She was the mother of the late Donald B. Skipper, Jr. and Wayne C. Skipper. A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2009, at 5:00pm, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be private.
