Martin Gerry West

Mr. Martin Gerald West Gerry, age 71, of Middletown, Rhode Island, passed away on June 25, 2018 at Newport Hospital.
Gerry was born in Newport, RI to Martin West, Jr. and Katherine (Murphy) West. He grew up in the Point neighborhood and graduated from Rogers High School in 1965. He soon began a career as an electrician, first working for Bestoso Butterton in Newport. He moved to Albuquerque and operated his own electrical contractor company as Master Electrician, with his lovely wife at the time Kristi West and his two children Ryan and Jessica West. He returned east and began working at Electric Boat and lived in Groton for many years. During his time at EB, he served as the Union Steward. Upon his retirement, he returned to Aquidneck Island.
Gerry is survived by two children, Ryan West and his wife April West of Buffalo Creek Colorado, Jessica West of Bound Brook New Jersey, a brother Raymond West and his wife Lucy West of Florida, and his good friend Joan Ramos of Portsmouth.
He was preceded in death by a brother Greg West.
Services for will be Friday July 6, 2018 at 2 pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway in Newport.
