Mary Ellen Carroll Marshall

Mary Ellen Carroll Marshall, 71, of Portsmouth died on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at her home. Mary Ellen was born on June 2, 1946. She was the daughter of the late James J. and Eileen T. (Fitzgerald) Marshall. Mary Ellen served over three decades as a librarian at the Naval War College. She was an avid world traveler, loved summers at the beach, reading and was always up to date with news and politics. Her dry wit and great sense of humor will always be remembered by her family and friends.She is survived by her cousins, John Fitzgerald and his wife Kim of Delray Beach, FL; James Fitzgerald of Indonesia; Lori Hughes of Attleboro, MA and Robert Fitzgerald of Portsmouth. She also leaves dear friends David, Phyllis and Joanna Procaccini.Calling hours will be held on Saturday November 11, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday November 11, 2017 at 10:30 AM at St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.
