Mary L. Foss

Mary L. Foss, 90, of 303 Valley Road Middletown, died Friday, May 31, 2002 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late Faye S. Foss. Born in Mongardino, D?Asti, Italy on February 23, 1912 and lived in Newport since 1915. She moved to Middletown in 1999. She was the daughter of the late Camillo F. Rolando and the late Margherita A. Conti Rolando. She was employed as a clerk at the Naval Underwater System Center, and the former Naval Torpedo Station. She was employed in the Federal Civil Service for 15 years. She was a member of the Court Newport #110 of the Catholic Daughters, the St. Joseph?s Senior Citizens, the Middletown Senior Citizens, and the Middletown Town Howlers Square Dance Club. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Joseph?s Church. She is survived by one daughter Judith C. Womack, of Hyde Park, VT and one son Stephen F. Foss of Canaan, Maine, two sisters, Rose O?Dell and Rita A. Sullivan both of Newport, and two brothers Louis J. Rolando of Dunnellon, FL and Alfred S. Rolando of Newport, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and three step grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. She was the mother of the late Linda C. Wilson, and sister of the late Mario P. Rolando and the late Joseph P. Rolando. Her funeral will be held Tuesday, June 4, at 8:00 AM from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM in St. Josephs Church, Broadway And Mann Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.Memorial donations may be made to the St. Joseph?s Church Building Fund 5 Mann Avenue Newport, RI 02840.
