Mary Perry

Middletown, RI - Mary Medeiros Perry, 93, of 2 Rosedale Terrace, Middletown, RI, died on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at the Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown, RI.She was the wife of the late Sgt. Lewis P. Perry, retired MPD. Born in Portsmouth, RI, on September 24, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Antone and Mary Rodrigues Medeiros.Mary was a lifelong resident of Middletown. During WW2 she began work at Newport Hospital, where she worked until 1949 then returning in 1965 after raising her family. Through the years, Mary was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, and the FOP. She was a communicant of Jesus Saviour Church. She is survived by her sons, Lewis R. Perry of Portsmouth, RI, and William A. Perry of Surprise, AZ, two granddaughters Suzanne Cressman of Middletown, RI, and Maryanne Perry of Bristol, RI, and two grandsons Stephen W. Perry of Easton, MA, and Jonathon Perry of Mesa, AZ. She was the sister of the late Julia Simond and John Medeiros. Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 18, 2011, from 4-7pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Her funeral will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2011, at 8:00am, from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am, in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway and Vernon Avenue, Newport.Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown
