May Elizabeth (Howard) Albro, 94, of Middletown RI passed away sleeping peacefully on June 6, 2018.She was the wife of the late George Hazard Albro Jr.Born June 4, 1924 in Newport RI, she was the daughter of the late Waldo and Ida (Dwelly) Howard.Mrs. Albro worked for New England Telephone as an operator during the end of World War II. She worked as Zayres Department store after her husband passed away. She was a member of and very active in church affairs over her years. May enjoyed bingo, word puzzles, embroidering, shopping, and doing things with her friends and family.She is survived by her children, George Albro III (Sue) of Comfort TX, May Taylor (George) of Wells ME, David Albro of Newport RI, Laurie Cummings (Robert) of Pickens SC. Her grandchildren; Scott OConnors of MA, Allison Hockersmith and Amy Oppenheimer of TX, Allison Albro of RI, Timothy Albro of MA, Shannon Bowen, Daniel Cummings, Caitlin Cummings of SC, Michael and Steven Albro of FL, Carrie Linville of GA, and Christian and Cody Albro of RI. She also leaves 15 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and great friends.She was preceded in death by her children Walter Albro, Carol Linville, and Bruce Albro, as well as her brother Waldo Howard.A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 7th at 10:00 AM at City of the Hill Christian Church 999 West Main Rd Middletown RI.Burial will be privateIn lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope Hospice of Rhode Island 1085 North Main Street Providence RI 02904.
