Portsmouth, RI - May Y. Levesque, 91, of 45 Massachusetts Blvd, Portsmouth, RI, died Sunday, January 27, 2008 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. Born in Woonsocket, RI on May 13, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Beatrice Lebeau Dudley and the wife of the late George F. Levesque. Mrs. Levesque worked as a nurse in many different settings throughout her career. Most recently, she was a nurse for the Institute of Mental Health for the State of Rhode Island. May was a former member of the Portsmouth Democratic Womens Club. She loved animals, enjoyed reading, gardening and bird-watching and often showcased her traditional English wit. She is survived by her daughter Marjorie Levesque of Portsmouth, RI and her son Guy Levesque also of Portsmouth, RI. She is also survived by grandchildren Erika Harris, Emily Levesque-Gottlieb and Sara Levesque, great-grandchildren Brett and Scott and son-in-law Richard Gottlieb.Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by a son George S. Levesque, and a daughter Elizabeth Levesque.Her funeral will be held on Friday, February 1, 2008, at 9:00 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown. Burial will be in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
