Shelton, 59, of Newport, Rhode Island, received her Angel Wings on July 13, 2018 at home in Newport.Melanie was born September 2, 1958 in Washington, DC to the late Shirley (Rabb) Shelton and the late Warner Shelton.To know Melanie was to experience her. Melanie was selfless and loved to help everyone in her family and community. Her smile lit up any room, and her love filled it. Her family was her lifeline. She enjoyed her life and her family very much.Melanie was a loving mother and is survived by her children Khadijah Gallucci and her husband Brian Gallucci of Wilmington, MA, and Greg Brunson and his fianc Connie Murphy of Pawtucket R.IMelanie was a caring and devoted sister to her siblings, Vicki Shelton, Khyrriyah Abdul's-Samad, Derrick Shelton, Rodney Shelton, Dawn Shelton, Jill Lighty, and Malika Stanford.
