Michael F. Davis, affectionately known as "Rock," passed away on September 8, 2026, at the age of 61. Born on May 20, 1965, in Newport, RI, Michael was happiest spending time with his family and friends, and putting others first.
Michael was a devoted custodian at Swansea Public Schools, where he was a beloved figure. Kids were always eager to give him high-fives, and he had a knack for making everyone feel special. Michael loved his family fiercely and cherished spending time outdoors, especially with his nieces and nephews. His weekends were filled with get-togethers at his house or wherever the party was. His loyal dogs from earlier in life were Shep, Fritz, and Porsche.
With a CDL license obtained at just 18, he carried on the family legacy with Davis Moving Service, alongside his father, Francis, and brothers, Stephen and Brian. Other careers that held a special place in Michael's heart were Davis Express, Mayflower, Watkins/FedEx, Composites One, and Riverhead Building Supply and Portsmouth Public School.
A true New Englander at heart, Michael was a die-hard Red Sox and Patriots fan. He enjoyed life to the fullest, often lending a helping hand to anyone in need without expecting anything in return. For over 20 years, he was also a proud member of the Seaconnet Sportsman Club and loved to help with fireworks at Escobar Farms. Michael was always up for a good seafood or steak dinner. He truly never knew a stranger and was adored by all.
Michael leaves behind his loving life partner, Anne Rego, and her children, Joshua and Katelyn Aubin. He's also survived by his siblings, Stephen, Deborah, Brian (Denise) Davis, and Denise (Shawn) Lancaster, along with many cherished nieces and nephews: Ryan, Danielle, Jacob, Elaine, Stephen, Tayler and Conner Davis and Jessica Kielbasa, and great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Evelyn Davis, sister-in-law Roberta Davis, nephew Matthew Lancaster, and many aunts and uncles.
Calling Hours will be on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 2:00-5:00pm, at Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871. A Memorial Service will be at 2:30 in the same location.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Potter League in his memory.
Heartfelt thanks go to the amazing nurses in the ICU at Charlton Memorial Hospital for their outstanding care and compassion during Michael's last days.
Michael's warm spirit and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
