Antone Raposo

Antone Raposo, 86, of Middletown, formerly of Tiverton, died on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Newport Hospital. Antone was born January 9, 1931 in Fall River, MA, and was the husband of Lena (Arruda) Raposo. Tony grew up in Fall River and began his career with the Newport Finishing Corp as the Comptroller. He has been an accountant with Mas Donuts, and the manager of parking services at 130 Bellevue Ave, Newport.In addition to his wife, he is survived by his seven children, Nancy Raposo of Newport, RI, Brian Raposo of Middletown, Cheryl DeMoura of Fall River, Pamela Laplante of Connecticut, Kathleen Correiro of Ohio, Gail Wordell of Little Compton, and Beth Raposo of New Jersey, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.Predeceased by his parents Antonio and Belmira (Costa) Raposo, and his brother, Ernest Raposo.Calling hours will be Friday, December 29, 2017 from 4:00-7:00pm at Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.The funeral will be held on Saturday, December 30 at 11:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown, RI.
