David Bruce Hayward

David Bruce Hayward of Newport, Rhode Island, born August 10, 1957 in Providence, RI died on Friday, July 11, 2014 in Newport.He leaves behind his beloved wife Christine, daughter Cari, step-sons Brian and Kevin Beck, his brother Jeffrey and his wife Debbi, nephews Derek and Evan, in-laws Art and Roni Perry, sister-in-law Stephanie Perry Skriptshak and cousins, aunts and uncles.David proudly served in the United States Air Force for 17 years enjoying duty stations around the globe including Italy and two tours in Korea before early retirement during the post-Gulf War military downsizing. He worked in transportation logistics field before medically retiring in 2013. He was an active member of American Legion Post 18, the RI Patriot Guard Riders and VFW Post 5390.David enjoyed listening to the Blues genre with a special appreciation for live music, taking his sporty car for a spin around Newports breathtaking Ocean Drive, playing cards with his in-laws, and teasing his cats, Milo and Monkey. In honor of his quick wit, we encourage you to send a hand-made or store bought (American Made!) humorous card to bring a smile to someone you love.In accordance with Davids wishes, services will be private with interment at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
