Dong S. Ok

Dong Suk Ok, 77, of Portsmouth, RI, died on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. Born on August 21, 1940 in Korea, he was the son of the late Chi Jin Ok and Ho In (Yoon) Ok. He was the husband of Young (Chang) Ok of Portsmouth for 46 years.Mr. Ok worked at Newport Hospital as a Medical Technologist for 30 years. He was an active member of the Korean community, serving as a leader in the Rhode Island Korean Association, Korean School and Golf Association. He was also a Trustee of the Zion Korean United Methodist Church. Mr. Ok was a passionate golfer and could be found most days on the links at Green Valley Country Club.He is survived by his wife Young, daughter Patty Wilkinson and husband Jeffrey of Somerville, MA, son Daniel Ok and wife Maria of Ballwin, MO, as well as his grandchildren Kendall, Jack, Gordon, Simon and Apollo.Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Rd, Portsmouth.Funeral services will be Saturday, October 28, 2017, at 10:00 AM in the funeral home, followed by a burial at Newport Memorial Park, Vaucluse Ave, Middletown.
